Jane Stephenson, MBE, Chief Executive Officer

Jane has been working in the waste sector for over 20 years and has extensive experience at a strategic, regional and national level as well as local project delivery. She was one of the early advocates for increased recycling in the UK and was awarded an MBE in 2001 for her services to community recycling.


Dr Julian Parfitt, Research and Technical Director

Julian joined Resource Futures in May 2008 having worked from 2002  – 2007 as Principal Analyst at WRAP. For the last year he has been    Head of Research at ECT and has held various university, consultancy  and market research industry posts. He has conducted waste and resources management research for over 25 years across a broad range of topics: waste statistics, waste strategy, behavioural/ attitudinal surveys, market development and life-cycle assessments.

Sam Reeve, Principal Consultant

Sam is team manager for the Waste and Recycling Operations team (WARO), and is responsible for delivering a range of quantitative research projects including consumer and business surveys, waste analysis and participation monitoring. Sam has worked for Resource Futures since 2003. He has designed and managed over 50 waste data- gathering studies and has led in establishing Resource Futures as one of the leading authorities on waste compositional analysis.

Cathy Riley, Principal Consultant

Cathy is team manager for the Communications and Public Engagement team (CPEC) that delivers Resource Futures’ communications, community engagement and consultation work streams. Cathy specialises in community engagement, facilitation and training development and is an associate member of IEMA. She has worked for Resource Futures since 2004. In the early years of her career, she undertook field research on environmental topics such as the relationship between energy, poverty and sustainability.

 Ashley Robb, Principal Consultant

Ashley is team manager for the Research and Technical Consultancy team (RTC) that delivers Resource Futures’ waste systems consultancy, waste minimisation and resource efficiency work streams. Ashley has over 10 years experience of working as a waste management consultant (8 of these with Resource Futures) delivering a wide range of projects from high profile, large scale strategies to feasibility studies for the reuse of bulky white goods for social enterprises.

Martin Pearse, Projects Manager

Martin manages all Resource Futures' long-term projects including the Community Composting Projects, Community RePaint, The Real Nappy Projects, Oxfordshire's Community Action Groups (CAGS) and Bristol's Recycling In Flats Everyday (RIFE) project. Martin has over twenty years experience of community planning and community group development.

Ralph Openshaw, Senior Consultant

Ralph is a member of the WARO team and is responsible for the development and delivery of promotional canvassing (doorstepping) campaigns and quantitative attitudinal research. Before joining Resource Futures, Ralph was General Manager of Cornwall Waste Action.

Katie Winterborne, Senior Consultant

Katie is a member of the CPEC team. She has an MSc in Strategic Marketing Management and a background in design-agency account management. Katie specialises in the strategic design and delivery of communications campaigns to achieve positive behavioural change.

Karin Dubois,Senior Consultant

Karin joined the CPEC team in April 2008 following twelve years working as a Director of Chart House and Walkabout Pictures SA, amultimedia and television communications company, delivering workfor retailers, multinationals and specialising in environment and social affairs.

Andy Cunningham, Senior Consultant

Andy is a member of the RTC team and has over 20 years experience in waste management, including eight years spent managing kerbside recycling collections. Andy specialises in kerbside collections consultancy, including organics collections and providing business support to the community sector.

Eric Bridgwater,Senior Consultant

Eric joined Resource Futures in 2001 and is a member of the RTC  team. Eric’s areas of specialism include waste arisings forecasting  and modelling, mass flow and composition data analysis, financial  modelling and Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Sheila Gundry, Education in Schools Team Leader

Sheila is Education Team Leader, managing Resource Futures’ schools education programmes. Sheila is currently broadening the approach to meet the sustainable schools agenda and promoting active learning techniques for children, teachers and other professionals.

 

Mike Moore, Finance Director
Mike heads up the finance and support services team. Mike joinedResource Futures in January 2008 having previously worked forWessex Water where he acted as Finance Director for a majorsubsidiary and led a group of senior staff, reporting to the Board, onchange management.

Kate Thomas, Business Development and Marketing Director

Kate is responsible for marketing and business development. She has been with Resource Futures since 2000 and previously ran herown tele-marketing and research agency.
